Story
I completed the London Marathon, and I thoroughly enjoyed the whole day. I am thrilled with the sponsorship money raised, and thank you all for your kind support.
Many thanks
Sharon

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I will be running in the 2011 London Marathon this April. This is my first marathon, and I've decided to take the opportunity to try to raise some money for Barrett's Oesophagus Campaign - a charity which aims to raise awareness of a condition closely linked to cancer of the oesophagus.
Barrett's is a condition that affects some people who have had severe heartburn, or reflux of acid and bile, for a long time. This can cause inflammation to the cells lining the oesophagus. If this happens over many years, these cells may start to change. This is then called Barrett's Oesophagus. In some people with this condition the cell changes may develop into cancer. Early diagnosis of Barrett's means that potentially life-saving treatment may be received.
I have chosen this charity because 3 years ago my dad was diagnosed with Barrett's and sadly my family on my dad's side has a strong history of both Barrett's and cancer of the oesophagus, including my late Grandad and Uncle.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
If you would like to help this charity by sponsoring my Marathon run, it would be most gratefully received...
Thank you.
