Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I recently lost my mum to Ovarian Cancer. She was first diagnosed in 2001. Her strength and determination got her through it. The next 11 years mum was happy and in good health.
Sadly in April 2012 she started to experience health issues and after various tests the doctors said that the cancer had come back. Her treatment began at Charing Cross Hospital, and as before mum was very strong and remained positive till the end.
The excellent support, care and compassion that the medical staff at the hospital gave helped us all through the difficult times.
Mum throughout was full of praise and thanks for the way the staff had treated her and what they did for her. It was so comforting to see the relationship my mum shared with the nurses who were with her till the end.
Mum had a very special gift of always making people she met laugh and smile :-)
In loving memory of my mum, my cousins and I with the support of my family are running the Leicester Half Marathon on Sunday 14th October 2012 to raise awareness and support both Cancer Research and Charing Cross Hospital. Go Team Star!
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and supporting!! x
