I've signed on to help the Community Shelter of Union County provide emergency shelter, food and rehousing to our neighbors who need the help. Help me reach a goal of $1,000 by May 25. All proceeds stay in Union County, and the Shelter has a fantastic record of helping hundreds return to independent living. It's the only full-time homeless shelter in our county that helps men, women and families. You may not know it, but the Shelter: --Has stayed open throughout the pandemic thanks to its diligence in keeping residents, volunteers and staff safe. --Began a drive-thru pantry when Covid hit that has given out more than 600,000 pounds of food. --Its dining hall is open for three meals daily, every day, and is available for any Union County resident needing food. --Its rehousing program includes deposit and rental assistance, provides labor and furniture for the move and helps with case management for up to a year.
