Hello and thank you for visiting my fundraising page.  I have pledged to ‘do’ the Bristol Half - note the ‘do’ and not ‘run’ (anticipate ‘hopefully’ running most of it) - if I feel the need to walk at any time, I will!

To try to make the challenge more satisfying, I am choosing to raise funds for the charity Freewheelers EVS (Emergency Volunteer Service), Registered Charity No 1001067, also known as the 'Blood Bikes'.

These guys work alongside the NHS and deliver blood and platelets to the Great Western and the Wiltshire Air Ambulance Services on a daily basis; they deliver samples to pathology labs; medication to patients who have been released early; donated breast milk to babies born prematurely; plus many other things.  They do not charge the NHS a penny.

This valuable free service saves the NHS in excess of £300,000 per year, if they didn’t provide this service the NHS would have to use taxis and couriers.  They work out of hours, bank holidays including Christmas Day, come rain or shine and are all volunteers.

By supporting me you would be helping Freewheelers raise money to buy and maintain their fleet of bikes; along with the maintenance of bikes which last year was approximately £42,000.
