Fundraising for Willen Hospice
Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
As many of you may know I sadly lost my mum nearly 9 years ago. She was in and out of Willen hospice over many years and received exceptional care during each and every stay. The work Willen do is amazing, every patient is treated with great care, respect and dignity. I remember always feeling I could leave mum overnight and know she felt safe and looked after. When her long journey came to an end, the staff made sure she was comfortable and in as little pain as possible, and they supported and comforted my brother and I at a very difficult time.
I now work at the hospice as a Auxiliary Nurse and I also volunteer helping give out suppers and drinks to the patients, so I now see the hospice from the other side and can say that I see all the amazing hard work each and every employee and volunteer does. Everyone that works at the hospice does so because they care about supporting and caring for people at the most difficult time of their life.
The annual running costs of the hospice is around £4.6 million - they thankfully have 22% of the costs met by the NHS however this leaves a massive £3.6 million which needs to be raised from the local community and without the support, dedication and generosity of people like you, they couldn't provide the amazing care they do. So please donate as much as possible, every little bit helps.
