On Wednesday 9th September 2009 my team mates at work and I are planning to walk up Ben Nevis (11 miles and 1344 metres which will take around 9 hours) to raise money for BEN - The Motor And Allied Trades Benevolent Fund in the BEN 4 BEN Challenge 2009. 

For me it's a personal challenge as I haven't done anything like this before and when I get to the top I am planning to have my Cyprus flag raised high and do a little traditional Greek dance to celebrate (my boss thinks it's Stavros Flatley but if you are Greek it's a Varedo).  I don't know how many Greek cypriots have done that but there can't be many and I will gladly add my name to the list.

My teamates thought I would bottle it but we only live once and to say I did it and raised lots of money for people worse off than me and you, is something you can never take away from me.  I am going to climb.  I am already in training (I'm walking to the fridge on my own rather than getting my 6 year old to fetch me a beer, weight training with a tray in each hand and 3 bottles of whiskey on each and even practising my Greek dance though I'm struggling to get into my skirt part of my costume!!!)
