I am very privileged (and very scared) to have been given a place in the London Marathon this year on 3rd October. I am out of practice with my running but have 7 weeks to improve my fitness and use this opportunity to raise money for charity. I have chosen a small charity based in Newcastle called Butterfly 🦋 Thyroid Cancer Trust, which is very close to my heart since I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2009.

Butterfly 🦋 are not externally funded and rely entirely on donations and fundraising. This money will be used at University College Hospital London to renovate a RAI room in the Children’s ward where parents are able to stay with their children while they are having their radioactive iodine and have to isolate.
