Story

Hi!

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

As you may know, in my wisdom this year I have signed up to compete in not one, not two, not even three, but four sporting events!  Since beginning training in January, I've run and cycled through wind, rain, hail, snow, and more recently stifling heat.  All that was nothing compared to braving the public swimming pool in Peckham, and now the leeches in the lake in Hyde Park.  I completed the Crystal Palace Triathlon in May (phew!) and am swimming in the Great London Swim on July 3rd.  This is all just a small warm up for the big one - I'm running the olympic length London Triathlon on August 8th!  As a little warm down, I'm doing the Royal Parks Half Marathon on October 10th.

But all this is not for me.  My grandpa suffered for many years with Parkinson's diease, and we sadly lost him in February this year.  Every hour, someone in the UK is diagnosed with Parkinson's.  Parkinson's UK brings sufferers, their carers and families together, providing specialist nurses and support staff, information, research and training on every aspect of Parkinson's.  The charity is leading the work to find a cure, change attitudes, and demand better services.

The work that Parkinson's UK do is entirely dependent on donations, so please, donate some money, and help us to find a cure and improve life for everyone affected by Parkinson's.

Thank you so much.

Anyone can get Parkinson’s. It gets worse over time and there’s no cure. Yet. Funding research into the most promising treatments, we’re getting closer to a cure. Until then, we're improving life for people with Parkinson’s, and the people in their lives. Together we'll find a cure.
