I am part of a leadership team of three Girlguiding leaders taking 12 young women aged 14 -18 to Kenya to deliver a service project in 2020.

We will be working at a local school for 3 weeks - assisting teachers with lessons for children aged 3 - 17, reading stories, preparing meals, playing games and coaching sports.

In addition, with overcrowding an issue, improved facilities are needed to accommodate growing numbers and create more learning spaces. Renovation tasks will include painting, moulding bricks as well as assisting with the building of school facilities.

Whilst in Kenya we will meet local Girl Scouts, go to craft markets and soak up as much local culture as possible.

Our team of 15 will be working together over the next year to plan and prepare for our expedition and I am really excited not only to make a difference in Kenya but also to work with such an inspiring group of young women.
