Story
The Charlies Chance Foundation has been set up to relieve sickness and promote and preserve good health of children with cancer by the provision of funding and assisting with fundraising to enable them to access beneficial treatments not offered by the NHS and to provide emotional and other support for them, their families and carers in such ways as the trustees shall think fit.
Having rode the London 100 mile last year for the first time, I had the great pleasure of attending the black tie gala hosted by Charlies Chance where I received the fundraiser of the year award. This was a truly unexpected award and one which I am so proud of.
Having lost some weight last year in preparation of completing the ride I have this year once again signed up for a weight loss programme so that I will be in as best shape as I can be to take on three 100 mile challenges over the next couple of months.
I will be entering the Velo Birmingham in May, followed by the West Coast classic in July and finally, the main event the Prudential Ride London 100 on 4 August 2019.
My aim is not only to raise as much money as I can but to also help raise awareness of what this Charity does and how they help so many people and therefore any donation large or small is greatly appreciated.
