Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Last year I successfully reached Everest Base Camp at 5,364m (17,598ft) above sea level. It was a fantastic experience, not to mention a gruelling challenge which took 12 days to get there and return, some days trekking for up to 8 hours!
After the trek, arriving back in Kathmandu, Nepal, I spent a few days sightseeing and met many locals who I found to be the most gracious and genuine people I had ever met I also made a pact with two friends to summit Mt Blanc the following year - a pact that is now a reality!
So, as you can imagine the recent earthquake had quite an impact on me, and I didn't have any hesitation in choosing to support the victims and families affected.
On Friday 26th June, I will be attempting to summit Mont Blanc. At 4,810m (15,780ft) it's the highest mountain in Western Europe and is a completely different challenge to Everest Base Camp. Technical equipment is needed including crampons, harness and an ice axe. To make things even more challenging its currently -15 degrees on the summit.
Thank you for supporting my cause and wish me luck!
