Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Saturday September 3rd 2016

Hi All.
Thanks for reading. Unfortunately, due to the inclement weather (ie it is hammering down at the moment and forecast to get worse) we have been forced to cancel today's planned collection in Bath. We Hawaiians are not used to rain! Plus it is very difficult to collect when what the "punters" want to do is run for cover. Sorry for any disappointment

Watch this space for the next event

July 24th 2016

On Sunday 24th this bevy of beauties - and Steve - collected at Morrisons Store, London Road, Bath to raise more funds for CLIC Sargent. The weather was great, the customers were friendly and we collected a phenomenal £526 towards the general fundraising for CLIC Sargent

The next Fundraising event is a "Coffee/Pub Crawl" on Saturday September 3rd in Bath, when once again we will be 'Going Hawaiian'. Come and join in, or just drop a few pennies in the bucket

Route will be published very soon

March 2016

Today - Sunday March 20th 2016 - four cold bodies (me, Deb, Sarah and Morgan) collected at Bath Spa Railway Station for CLIC Sargent. Despite it being a 'slow day' (Sunday) we collected a magnificent £80 to add to the coffers. This takes "my" total over £3000, which I am very pleased with, bearing in mind my original target was £250!! Thank you to the station staff, who as previously were absolutely brilliant, and could not have been more helpful, and also the Bath public, who dug deep again.

The next definite event will take place on Sunday 24th July at Morrisons store, London Road, Bath. Mention has also been made of a coffee/pub crawl sometime in the summer - probably July or August. It would be great if anyone felt like joining us for either

One week to go before the latest collection day - at Bath Spa Railway Station. Because it is still a little bit chilly, we are going to wear animal onesies - to try to keep warm whilst we wander the platforms and tunnels at the station, which can be a chilly place at the best of times.

If you happen to pass through Bath Spa station any time on Sunday 20th March, hopefully you will spot one or more of myself, Debra, Sarah, Morgan, Steve, Andy and Kate. If anyone would like to join us in collecting, we have a plethora of animal onesies - take your pick on which animal you'd like to be, from tigers, lions, bears (oh my) to bunnies and scottie dogs

Apart from the collection we will be holding in July at Morrisons in Bath - we also have a new collection day on Sunday March 20th at Bath Spa Railway Station.

Because it is the week before Easter Sunday, we are going to wear Easter themed fancy dress. If anyone has any ideas on costumes etc, please get in touch

We have another gig - Sunday July 24th July at Morrisons in Bath. The picture above was taken at the last Morrisons bucket collection

Not sure what our fancy dress theme will be next time, but it is the Sunday before Easter, so maybe 'Jessica Rabbit' will make a re-appearance.

Looking forward to it with assistance from Debra, Sarah, Morgan, Kate, Joe and Jacob

October 2015

Another day, another fundraiser. Once again we are collecting at Bath Spa Railway Station. The date is Sunday 25th October - look out for us in animal onsies dotted around the station, in ticket halls and platforms. Due to unforseen circumstances, there will only be two of us collecting, so you may need to search us out

Many thanks to the First Great Western staff at the station for letting us invade once again

August 2015

Another day, another great day collecting in Bath. This time we donned togas to collect at Bath Spa station and had great fun with the punters.

Many thanks to Debra, Joe, Morgan, Kate and Sarah for managing the buckets.

Also many thanks to the staff at the station who were all magnificent.

Most of all, thank you to the customers of FirstGreatWestern who collectively donated £226 for CLIC Sargent

June 2015

Here was me thinking that the bunny season was over!

We asked Morrisons Store in Bath if we were allowed to do a bucket collection there - the lovely Kate Edwards said "yes" so on Sunday 21st June, Kate Scott and I pitched up. Kate splendidly dressed as Rabbit de Niro and me as Jessica from "Who Framed Roger Rabbit". It shouldn't be allowed - especially on Fathers' Day - for me to be dressed in a frock, but there you go.

People laughed, children wondered why we were dressed that way, but in the end we collected donations of £246 in our buckets. Fantastic - thank you very much everyone who donated.

Next on the list is a bucket collection at Bath Spa railway station on Friday 17th July. There we will be dressed - of course, being Bath Spa - in togas.

Well, the bunny season is now over. Great fun whilst it lasted - but it was VERY hot inside that suit!! Wearing heels was easier!!

March 2015

The next event has now been organised for Saturday 28th March 2015 - A "crawl" with a difference -
this is a "Coffee Crawl" around the independent café's and coffee houses in Bath city centre with the 'contestants' wearing animal onesies. As we go around we will have collection buckets and will try to persuade people to contribute to this wonderful charity

So get down to Primark and get yourself an animal onesie - unless you already have one of course

We now have also been given permission to hold a bucket collection at Morrisons, London Road Bath on Sunday 21st June. Just watch this space for details. This will definitely be an event where the collectors will be wearing fancy dress in order to stand out. My evil planner already has an idea having watched a specific film over the Christmas period. Be assured that I shall be the one in the most embarrassing costume

Just by way of a change, I have spent the last couple of afternoons - with another couple next week - wearing the Duracell Bunny costume. So far I have appeared at Makro in Cribbs Causeway and B&M at Ashton Gate. Next week it is B&M in Trowbridge and B&M in Warmister. This is not a sponsored event as such, but a job I secured with the help of Kate Scott.

The money I am paid to wear the outfit will be going directly into the fundraising pot - and could start a whole new career of bunny impersonations so watch this space - there are plenty of famous bunnies to dress up as - all suggestions welcome

Yet another challenge - this time made by my "very good friend" Kate Scott.

On Saturday November 1st I shall be paraded around Bath like a "show horse" wearing an 'interesting' outfit carefully selected by Kate. In addition, I shall be wearing pink furry handcuffs. We start at around 11.00 in the Abbey Courtyard

I have no further details - except to say that I have been promised 'an adventure' and that it includes a visit to the Ann Summers shop where some of the staff have promised a donation - not sure what to make of that but 'in for a penny......'

It will be raising a minimum of £200 for CLIC Sargent so to hell with my dignity

The latest challenge toraise money for CLIC Sargent - I have been challenged to be the "hen" on my very ownHen Party in Bath.

This exciting extravaganza on Saturday 25th October commences at 15.00 in the Slugand Lettuce in George Street, Bath for cocktails followed by a number of otherhostelries yet to be determined.

Whether this leads on to a "wedding" at a later date will depend onwhether enough of a bribe is offered for me to do it. I will of course, if enough money is offered.

For the time being the "bride to be" requests thateveryone else attending wear trousers, as Stevie is the only one to be wearing a frock for the party

Thank you - let the funcommence

Update - just to add to the "fun", as well as the items below (please read) in addition, I will now be doing the Ice Bucket Challenge in my female outfit on Sunday 19th October. This will take place in Clifton, probably outside the CLIC Sargent shop on Cotham Hill. I suspect that it will be chilly, and I am as yet unsure where I will be able to change out of my frock, but never mind! Please give generously

We decided that we could expand on "Wig Wednesday" - so I agreed to wear a prom dress - with all the trimmings - all in CLIC Sargent pink, in and around the Cotham Hill CLIC Sargent shop in Clifton. So the three events we have definite dates for are as follows:

1) Thursday 25th September - DJ Party in the CLIC Sargent Cotham Hill shop. Earlier in the day I will be going around Cotham Hill to visit a number of the businesses and shoppers generally, then in the evening the shop will stay open for a DJ Party. Come and have a go at DJ-ing in the shop. You choose the music and CLIC Sargent staff will be on hand with refreshments and to boogie the night away

2) Saturday 18th October we will be doing a bucket collection at Clifton Down Shopping Centre. I shall be in my prom outfit to draw attention to the collection and we'll be wandering around Sainsbury's etc

3) Sunday 19th October will be a repeat of 2)

We also have in the pipeline, a sponsored walk between all of the CLIC Sargent shops in Bristol - that will be in the Spring, and is very much in the planning stage at the moment.

May 20th 2015 was to be Wig Wednesday, but there may be something different - but still likely to be on the same date

Come along and join in the fun - but most of all, please donate as much as you can afford
