Story

In July 2012, nine young people aged 17 and 18 will travel to South Africa to help with a charity called Arise who work with vulnerable children.  My Beth will be one of the young people.  I am raising money to contribute to getting the young people and three leaders there for two weeks.

Arise work in a poor community in the outskirts of Cape Town in an area called the Cape Flats.  Arise has a special connection as it was set up five years ago by a young lady, Debbie, who grew up in our church before moving to South Africa.

Debbie, together with her husband Alun, does increadible and practical work.  Arise works with children who might find themselves in crisis because of abuse, severe neglect, abandonment, homelessness, parents imprisonment, parents who are sick and unable to find employment or children on drugs.

If you click to pay proceeds will go to my church, the Church of the Good Shepherd, who are handling the money for us.

Please give generously - any surplus will be used to support the work of Arise.  If you have any questions, I'd be delighted to answer them.
