Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As you may have gathererd my name is Stu Parker and I am a Corporal in The Royal Anglian Regiment.  I joined the Army in 1994.  Since that time I have served in Bosnia, Northern Ireland, Sierra Leone and Afghanistan and various other places.  On 23rd August 2007 I was seriously injured in a blast in Helmand Province Afghanistan in which three of my colleagues, John Thrumble, Robert Foster and Aaron McClure were killed and one other injured.  It has taken me two long years to get back to a level of fitness having had to recover from blast lungs, Spleen and Pancreas loss as well as mass organ damage and a broken leg amongst other things!.  During the time I was injured I was introduced to The Not Forgotten Association and its work.   They have greatly helped me in my recovery and it is for this reason I have chosen to raise money for them to show my appreciation for the wonderful work that they do for wounded servicemen and women of the British Armed Forces, an ever so more important cause.
