Story
On , despite numerous hamstring, knee, shin, feet and calf injuries, we will be running the Virgin London Marathon. Pete will be running for the second time, Stu the first.
Why on Earth are we doing this? It's a good question we've asked ourselves countless times when training in the rain, snow and sleet, but there is a good answer.
We're both running for WellChild, the national charity for sick children. They help sick children and their families throughout he , as they deal with the consequences of serious illness. Not only do their nurses care for children up and down the country, but the charity also co-ordinates and funds research projects which will help future generations. You can find more information on their website and their youtube channel.
Both our employers, Barclays and BP, will match contributions, doubling donations made. So if you can reclaim tax by ticking the Gift Aid box, for every £1 you donate up to £2.28 will go to WellChild. We will also be in touch at a later date with details of a sweepstake on our finishing times, with a portion of the proceeds going to the winner and the remainder to WellChild.
