Story

Hello everyone, thanks for visting my fundraising page.

In a moment of madness I've decided, along with equally crazed friends Rick and Tony, to cycle across this beautiful island we call Great Britain - all 1020 miles of it, from Land's End to John O' Groats - for charity.

We set off for this epic folly on the 1st August!

Whilst it may not be everyone's idea of a two week 'holiday', I'm sure it's going to be a real adventure and a challange - best of all, I am raising as much money as possible for the Sumatran Orangutan Society (SOS)

SOS was set up to provide protection and support for the critically endangered Sumatran Orangutan, a truly beautiful and magestic creature which is, sadly, rapidly on course to become the first Great Ape to go extinct, with just 7,500 left in the wild.

SOS work by increasing awareness of the threats facing wild orangutans, and raising funds to support  grassroots conservation projects in Sumatra. Together with teams of committed Indonesian conservationists, they work with local communities living alongside orangutan habitat, visiting schools, plant trees and provide training to help the local people work towards a more sustainable future for their forests.

So, please dig deep for me and my aching legs, and for the sumatran orangutans - time is running out and they really do need all the support you can give.

Thanks!

Stu
