Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
Withington Girls' School is holding a sponsored 4K run on 17 October, to raise money for the Christie Hospital in Manchester which is one of the country's leading cancer hospitals. I can't be there on 17 October, and I can't run any more - ever - so I'm going to walk the 4K in public on a treadmill at school on 14 October, which just happens to be my birthday!
Two years ago I was seriously ill, following complications from a total knee replacement. Seven operations later, thanks to the skill of my surgeon Nick Morgan, my physios John and Alain, and the wonderdrug Vancomycin, I have nearly a yard of metal in my right leg, but I have finally been able to throw away the crutches and the walking stick!
Walking 4K is still a major challenge for me, but I am determined to succeed, and to do my 'bit' to help the school's efforts to raise money for our local cancer hospital. Please support me if you can! Thank you.
