WE'VE DONE IT!!!!....AND LIVED TO TELL THE TALE (Just!)

What an amazing experience. Perfect weather conditions and great team spirit. We were up early this morning and registered by 9am but had to wait until 3pm before we could actually go up. Jo was out of the plane first, and did an ace backward tumble just for the video camera. I can still picture the look on her face but that was probably nothing compared to mine as I followed close behind, jumping at 13,000 feet +.

The sensation of free-falling at a speed of approx. 120m/h was not as bad as one would imagine but it was noisy and hard to breath at times and it felt as if we'd been plunged into a freezer.

I actually got the free-fall experience twice on my jump, as my main parachute had a knot in it so my tandem partner had to "cut the line" and then activate the emergency parachute. (A 1 in 1,000 chance of happening and I had to be the one!)

Back at ground level, our amazing supporters saw my discarded parachute land before me and staff rushed to the site to retrieve it. It did cause quite a stir and there were sighs of relief as we all came in to land safely.

At this point Jo and I would like to say a MASSIVE Thank You to every single one of you who so kindly donated to our cause. We have been overwhelmed by all the support and lovely messages. We are proud to have been able to make such a healthy contribution to the Alzheimer's Society but we will not be repeating that experience again!!!!

Many thanks

love Sue and Jo
