Just over 3 years ago, at the age of 40, my husband Steve suffered a stroke. It was very serious but he was lucky enough to be transferred to the state of the art neuro-intensive care unit at the John Radcliffe. The doctors used pioneering techniques which undoubtedly saved his life. They continued his care in the stroke ward and later he was transferred to the Nuffield rehab unit. Four months later he was allowed home and has since made an almost complete recovery, much to our great relief. I have always wanted to give something back to the JR for all that they did for us so this is my chance to raise funding for them.
