We provide free ‘Homes from Home’ to keep families together

Story

I've worked for The SCT since March 2001, starting as the first house manager at Treetop House in Sheffield and over the last 9 years as the House Operations Manager.

The Sick Children's Trust provides Home from Home accommodation for the families of sick children whilst they receive vital medical treatment in hospital often far from home. Families are able to stay together close to their child and offer each other essential support during a difficult time.

Over the last 14 years I have been priviledged and proud to work with some amazing people and see first hand the difference this charity offers to our families.

On September 15th I will celebrate my 60th Birthday and have chosen to challenge myself to do The GNR for the 5th time. Although, I haven't done any running for about 2 years, so as you can imagine I need all the support I can get. My goal is to raise £600 so each donation you make will give me great encouragement to get on with some training and on the 13th September cross the finish line knowing its all been worthwhile.

About the charity

The Sick Children’s Trust is the charity that gives families with a seriously ill child in hospital a comfortable place to stay and a friendly ear to listen in one of our ten ‘Homes from Home’. By providing families with somewhere to stay near their child they have one less thing to worry about.
