Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Susan's JustGiving page.

Cancer has cut another life short. On Sunday the world lost
an Angel. She leaves behind her devastated loving family and friends. She was
only 63 and had so much more life to live. She loved life and enjoyed every
minute of being a Wife, Mother, and recently a Granny.

From this whole experience, her husband, daughter and two
sons have been astonished at how many lives have been touched by Susan. Susan led
a simple life, never wished for the finer things in life. Her passion was to
simply be a Wife, Mum, Granny, Sister-In-Law, Aunty and Friend. She led a
selfless life and was always the carer. Right to the end she resisted being
cared for as this never sat right with her. Her purpose was to care for others
and this is what she always did.

Susan’s final week was spent in Wigan and Leigh Hospice. We
cannot describe how fantastic Wigan and Leigh Hospice is. Their care is
outstanding, not only for the seriously ill patients, but for the patients’
families. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff and the volunteers are truly
fantastic people. Although Susan did not like being cared for; because she was
the carer; the staff and volunteers were amazing and ensured Susan’s final days
were as comfortable as they could be.

Wigan and Leigh Hospice only receives a third of its
required funding from the NHS. The remaining £7,400 daily costs have to be
raised from charitable donations to fund the care of 14 beds. This means Susan’s
short stay needed £3,700 from peoples’ incredible generosity.

Susan would not accept this generosity lightly and
subsequently Philip, Carolyn, Gary and David would love to raise money in her
name to ensure the care she received continues for others.

We have decided to set up two ‘Just Giving’ pages in Susan’s
memory to raise money for 2 charities. The 2 charities are Wigan and Leigh
Hospice and Macmillan Nurses. We have set a high target of £999 on each page,
but remind all that in the words of Susan’s employers ‘every little helps!’ The
number 9 has been showing itself a lot in recent months. Susan was also in room
9 at the hospice. There are many other things which have happened recently
which are associated with the number 9. We have googled the number 9 and the search
results were incredible! The number 9 represents faithfulness, gentleness,
goodness, joy, kindness, love, peace, selflessness, plus much more. All of
which describe Susan Buckley. This is the reason we have set such a high target
of £999 on each page.

Please split your donation between the two pages. We can
assure you the money is going to two fantastic charities. Philip, Carolyn, Gary
and David cannot thank these two charities enough for the love and support they
gave Susan and us.

Please spread the word about these two ‘Just Giving’ pages
to everyone whose life was touched by Susan. The world was lucky to have her,
she will never be forgotten.

Love and best wishes
