When farmer Tim Papworth stood in front of me with the top of his skull (he’s got a titanium one now) in a display case and told his story it certainly made everyone sit up listen to what he had to say!
Health and safety can often be a `dry` topic and hard to get across how easily accidents happen. Tim’s story at the Oxford Farming Conference about how he fell from a ladder whilst changing a bulb certainly had everyone’s attention.
Tim's story wasn't just about the accident and how easily it was done. His story was about his recovery, low points, his fighting spirit and how it affected people and relationships around him. It was incredibly personal and it was a privilege and inspiration to listen how he handled it.
Tim has raised money for the air ambulance and thanks them for saving his life. Those critical seconds all add up when something goes wrong, and given how busy the roads are every day I think this really worthy cause that makes a real difference. If you can spare anything towards it I'll be very grateful. Thank you.
