The Cathedral Archer Project is a safe, warm and welcoming place for the homeless and vulnerable in Sheffield and which provides support to increase self-esteem and in taking steps to change their lives.

As you will know, via the Thorncliffe Employee Forum, B. Braun Medical Ltd has supported the Cathedral Archer Project for a number of years and our employees have taken part in many events such as The Harvest Festival Appeal, The Breakfast Club, Sleep-Outs, making donations of medical equipment and supplies all of which have been gratefully received.

On the evening of 14th May 2020 there was a break in at The Cathedral Archer Project, who are based in the buildings owned by Sheffield Cathedral, and a fire started in one of the rooms. The fire brigade attended and the fire was extinguished. Thankfully no one was hurt but there was extensive damage to the property and the section dedicated to the Cathedral Archer Project. This has put part of the centre out of action for the foreseeable future, possibly many months.

The intention is for CAP to resume their essential services supporting and feeding homeless people, as soon as is safe and possible to do so. This is obviously a huge blow for the charity who have been making and delivering over 180 meals daily to those in need during this current crisis.

As part of the B. Braun 1.500 Corporate Challenge during June 2020 we call on our employees to help raise £1,500 towards the Cathedral Archer Project so that all the CAP can resume their essential services to the homeless as soon as possible.
