Story
I’ve chosen to run the London Marathon to raise money for Llanelli MIND.
I entered the ballot and was extremely lucky to get a spot. I’ve not run any distance since school (20 years ago) though I’ve been training and recently completed the Bath Half Marathon.
Part of the training has been increasing my fitness, though once you start covering more distance there’s a lot of head work to get to the finish line every time. It’s a battle with yourself sometimes to complete the set distance.
In my day job as a Police officer I speak with people dealing with their mental health concerns on a daily basis and see their struggles. I liase with partner agencies who do all they can to assist these people.
I have friends and colleagues who suffer with mental health concerns or have loved ones who battle it every day.
Llanelli MIND is a fantastic organisation that has its door open for everyone. They are there to assist , maybe even just to listen if that’s what you need. They are a charity and require financial assistance to continue providing their excellent services.
Llanelli MIND is a worthy cause and I ask everyone to consider donating to my marathon challenge. Thank you
