Tim Pruss, who is the son of my much loved godparents, died at the tragic age of 18, just after leaving Chigwell School (also my alma mater). Since his passing his family and friends have established and maintained a school in Tamil Nadu, India in his memory. I will do a small sacrifice - that of alcohol - during my summer vacation and the beginning of my 3rd year at university to honour the memory of a special and infinitely loved young man.
Last year when I attempted a winter abstinence I superseded my goal of £300 which was done in memory of my nan and for Alzheimer's Society. I am therefore aiming to raise more - at least £500 - for the Bede Griffiths Charitable Trust, which administrates the Tim Pruss Memorial School along with other projects in the region of Tamil Nadu.
