Story
Thanks to all my wonderful sponsors - I think that this has been a year when people want to give something to help other people - and you have certainly done that.
I finished - my slowest and most gruelling marathon, as I wasn't feeling 100% even at the start, and then I fell over when discombobulated by someone on the towpath at about 8 miles, and acquired an impressive bleeding set of grazes, with luckily no real damage. But I slowed down after that, and was a bit more careful. I ran a bit short of water, but family members brought me some more at miles 13 and 21, and my cousin Tim wonderfully helped find the way the last few miles, where you run out of Thames for a bit, and it's really hard when your brain isn't really working and you can't stop without getting cramp.
Really pleased I could do something for those hit hardest by the pandemic in places like Yemen and Syria. Doing it through DEC is efficient because there are no competing fundraising costs. Your money gets straight through to the charities delivering on the ground. (I saw how DEC works when I was at Bond)
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
