Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm going to be running the Brighton Marathon on April 18th 2010 to raise money for the charity I work for, The Grace Eyre Foundation, which supports people with learning disabilities to lead fulfilling, active and independent lives.
It is a big, scary challenge for me as I've never run any long distances before and I only have three and a half weeks left to train. ( Apparently, you're supposed to rest for the last three weeks before the race but that will be impossible as I have to prepare more.)
Luckily though, I have a personal trainer, in the form of my son Leon, who's ten and accompanies me on some runs on his BMX. He's encouraging me to build up some stamina, and find a tiny percentage of the energy which he has in boundless quantities.
I'm determined to complete the distance though, (all 26.2 miles), even if I have to hop to the finish line, which I might if my clicky knee gets much worse.
Please give whatever you can, as I really want to reach my target fund raising figure of £500, and every amount, big or small, will make a huge difference to people's lives.
Thanks a lot for your support.
