Story
Hello and thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have signed up to run my first 10k in London for the Nicholls Spinal Injury Foundation because one of my colleagues works for this charity, and I wanted to support a charity to which I somehow have a personal connection. A friend of my colleague set up the foundation after his son was left paralysed from his arms down after diving into a wave on Australia's Bondi Beach and breaking his neck on a hidden sandbank. The Foundation is focussed on raising money in order to fund innovative medical research, that we all hope will lead to a repair and cure for spinal cord injury. There are over 2.5 million people worldwide living with paralysis caused by spinal cord injury, and each year around 130,000 more join them, and we never know who in our circle of friends may have such a horrible accident. That's why I thought that supporting this Foundation can have a great effect on so many people, and it's absolutely a cause worth donating for, so please help supporting the foundation by sponsoring me for the 2011 Bupa London 10,000 run! :-) Thank you!
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now and send me back on my treadmill to get ready. And please don't forget: you can still donate even if you're not a UK resident! The charity won't be able to claim the Gift Aid, but your donation will still help! Thank you!
Thank you very much for your time, support and donation!!!
Warm regards,
Tanya
PS: The race will take place on the 30th of May, starting at 11am. The start and finish will be in St. James's Park, and if you would like to come and support the runners, it would be greatly appreciated! I have added a map of the course to the pictures, so you can see where we'll run!
