We build mobile cancer care units to give those with cancer extra time

Story

On 23rd / 24th July, a team of four of us - known as 'Team Bumble' - will be climbing Snowdon and undertaking the world's fastest and longest zip wire ... all in less than 24 hours.  There will be no 'bumbling along' with this challenge - as we'll reach speeds of 100 mph travelling down the mile-long zip wire and we won't be 'hanging about' climbing up Snowdon either!

For our team, this represents a huge personal challenge, over-coming fears and (for two of our team) getting back to fitness following major surgery.  However, this is nothing compared to the daily challenges of living with cancer, dealing with fear and uncertainty every waking hour and mustering immense physical and mental strength to get through each treatment cycle and remain positive for your own sake as well as that of your loved ones.

Our team has been inspired to undertake this challenge for the charity, Hope for Tomorrow.  This is a cause very close to the 'leading lady' who persuaded us all to do this, as she received some of her treatment on board a Mobile Chemotherapy Unit.

Hope for Tomorrow funds, builds and maintains these specialist Units, making it possible to receive treatment closer to home, away from the stresses and strains of a busy oncology ward and giving patients back some 'normality' at a time when your world has been overtaken by illness and treatment.  It is the aim of Hope for Tomorrow to provide a Mobile Chemotherapy Unit in every county, and your donation will help make this possible.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
