Story

WE DID IT! \o/

On Saturday 7th May Team Dogface walked 40km (25 miles) across the South Downs in 10 hours.

Nev's report can be found here:

And lots of photos can be seen here:

Donations can still be accepted for 3 months after the event via this page so please feel free to help us continue to stretch for our target.

The Dogs Trust have sent thanks for the donations we've received so far and the team are grateful to each and every one of our supporters. You guys rock.

It's not over yet though!

Blame the puppy: Sarah's blog post about why she couldn't walk on the day can be found here...

So 3 members of the team will be walking the South Downs 40k later this year (1 human, 2 dogs).

Also I'm sure this won't be the last you'll hear from Team Dogface ;)

********************

Hello and welcome!

Early in 2011 we decided to go on a bit of a walk...a 40km walk!*

Our mutual appreciation of nature, and a love of camping/walking led us to the thought that maybe we could combine two of our favourite things: walking, and giving man's best friend a little bit of a helping hand.

Thus, we chose to join the Just Walk campaign for 2011 and will be donating all monies we raise to a charity that helps dogs who have a bit of a rough start in life - on the 7th May this year we'll be taking part in the 40km Just Walk event (that's about about 25 miles in real money) in the South Downs to raise money for the Dog's Trust.

'But what kind of dog's need a hand?' we hear you ask? Well, all sorts really, just like Shaun in fact. Life wasn't quite what he had planned as a puppy but, through the help of charities like the Dog's Trust he came to live with a couple of the team and we can safely say he's never looked back, although that may have something to do with the tummy tickles and the copious treats!

Anyway, enough rambling. You know who we are, what we're doing, and why we're doing it. All that's left to say is a big thank you from us for visiting this page. Give as much or as little as you wish. But know that whatever you do we appreciate your visit and your support greatly.

Thank you,

Sah, Nev, Janine & Paul (& Shaun).

* Hrm, perhaps we should have started with something a bit easier like, say, a jaunt to the pub.

Some serious blurb:

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

So please dig deep and donate now.
