Cycling to fund raise for climate change in Bangladesh (1100KM)
By this time climate change has become a chapter of school books so I don’t need to explain it to you! But contributing less than one percent, Bangladesh is still in the list of most vulnerable countries. Parts of some islands are already swallowed by the bay of bengal. The weather has changed from six seasons to three. Rainfall and temperature are increasing enormously; causing frequent natural disasters.
I’m Sudipta Chowdhury from a small town called Sunamgonj, Bangladesh. I am cycling from south-east to north-west of Bangladesh (Taknaf to Tetulia) about 1100km to draw attention to climate change (http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/home.php?sk=group_125310324189983&ap=1). At the same time I am also trying to raise money for the Daneford Trust, an international youth development organization and for Intercooperation (http://www.intercooperation-bd.org/), a Swiss international organization, registered in Bangladesh. The money will be spent through projects working with people affected by extreme weather as a result of climate change in Bangladesh. The high ground on which houses and villages are built can easliy be eroded by flood water. From money raised we will plant trees to prevent soil erosion and protect people's homes and livelihoods.
So please make a donation to save the people and save environment of Bangladesh. Even your donation worth of five tree saplings will contribute and people will be thankful.
Send the link (http://www.justgiving.com/Teknaf-Tetulia-bikeride) to your friends and encourage them to donate.
Thanks (on behalf of Bangladeshi),
Sudipta Chowdhury.
