Story

Royal Team To Run the BUPA 10K

For staff at the Royal Bath Hotel, the next few months are going to be extremely grueling - that’s because ’s popular seaside hotel has put together their very own team to run the BUPA London 10k in May.

The 10k run will take the Royal Bath team straight through the heart of , past some of the capital’s most famous attractions including Westminster Abbey, the Houses of Parliament, and the Tate Gallery.

But the run isn’t just for fun. The team will be putting all their efforts into completing the course so that they raise as much money as possible for the very worthwhile Variety Club Children’s Charity

General Manager, Paul Spencer, says: ”The team are really excited about this challenge, and feel very privileged to be part of such a worthwhile cause. Variety Club does so much good for sick, disabled and disadvantaged children, and it’s great to be able to do our bit. Over the next few months you’re likely to see us running red-faced up and down beach – we’re all in need of some good training!”

Paul Lawrence, Chief Barker of The Variety Club says: ”The work we do is all about the small change that makes a big difference to the lives of disadvantaged and sick children across the . It’s the generosity and dedication of people like Paul and the team that has helped us raise a massive £200 million pounds over the 60 years we’ve been established. We’re extremely thankful to Royal Bath for choosing our cause, and will be thinking of them as they race towards the finish line!”

Paul will be joined by: People and Development Manager, Tessa James; Director of Sales, Chrys Mackay; PA to the General Manager, Hollie Knight and Operations Manager, James Plant. The run will take place on Monday 31st May 2010.
