The Challenge

Team Name
"THE LOST BOYS"

The Route
Day 1 - Drive to St Omer in France to register and meet the rest of the Motoscape team
Day 2 - Drive to Koblenz in Germany via, Luxemburg and Belgium. Also try a lap or 2 of the Nurburgring
Day 3 - Drive to Feldkirch in Austria, driving down the Rhein gorge and the Black Forrest
Day 4 - Drive to Ritten in Italy via Switzeland and Liechtenstain. Also braving the 60 hairpens of the Stelvio Pass.
Day 5 - Drive to Rimini in Italy via San Marino. Maybe a short visit to the Ferrari and Lamborgini factory.
Day 6 - Drive to Bled in Slovenia.Taking in some of the stunning sights including the Vršič Pass and Lake Bohinj
Day 7 - Drive to Prague in Czech Republic. The final leg of this awesome journey. We may add to our country list by going to Prague via Croatia, Hungary and Slovakia.

The Car

We have bought a 22 year old Mercedes Benz 260e automatic for £100. It has only broken down twice, both times driving it home after buying it. Here are a list of character flaws the car has picked up:

Only firing on 5 of the 6 cylinders - Repaired
Dodgy front tyre - replaced with spare (courtesy of Steve Pilmoor)

Only drivers window opens - Passenger front repaired using a tapometre. (courtesy of Steve Pilmoor)
Centre Mirror broken - Replace with one out of a 1984 Merc 500SE
Electric aerial won't go back down - Replace with one out of a 1984 Merc 500SE
Brakes need replacing - New Calipers, Discs & Pads. £320 Ouch!
We broke down on the 21st Aug - Cause to be detirmined & fixed.

BIG THANKS to STEVE PILMOOR of Ripon, who has very kindly agreed to prepare the car for the rally free of charge. He has also provided a number of replacement parts for free too.
