In 2015, in a pub not far away, a small group of mixed age, experience and trade had the crazy notion to run the London Marathon and the Green Milers were born. The team were united in their motivation to raise as much as possible to make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities. Benefiting from Sarah’s wealth of experience and #PMA, the Green Milers trained hard and successfully completed the London Marathon in both 2016 and 2017, raising much needed funds for Whizz – Kidz. However, there is always more we can do and so the challenge of London 2018 lies ahead. Some of the team members may have changed but the goal remains the same. Sarah, Jim, Keith, Ryan, Heather and Jenny really appreciate you taking the time to visit our page. As well as training for the marathon we will be organising various fundraising events and look forward to seeing our supporters there.
Many children in this country suffer from debilitating conditions which seriously restrict their daily lives. Whizz- Kidz was set up to support these children and to help them become confident and independent young adults. They provide the vital equipment and life skills they need to reach their full potential.
So please help us raise funds to help disabled young people transform their lives and futures by giving them the gift of mobility.

28/10/17 Halloween - some of the Green Milers enjoyed helping at the children's party and in the evening a couple of witches arrived to help with the raffle to add to our fundraising. 

26/11/17 Jim (with Steve supporting), Keith, Heather & Jenny met for the Owler half marathon. Jim was fully prepared, having run at Bedgebury the week before but this was Keith's first ever half & Heather and Jenny had only run the 10k here. We were missing Sarah through injury but felt the #PMA and it was great for The Green Milers to share the track for the first 400m. Then the boys were off like greyhounds! The girls enjoyed jumping the puddles and looking out for Keith's dad marshalling. He told them the boys had flown past so it seemed fair to eat their jaffa cakes!! Everyone was slightly challenged by Heartbreak Hill but it could only be better from there and was an amazing feeling to run into the stadium and hear the crowd roar.
