Story

Welcome to my Just Giving Page and thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.

Some of you may know that Africa is a passion of mine. My ambition is to merge this passion for Africa with my love of exercise. I have found a new challenge in running the April 2019 London Marathon to raise money and support for Africa Education Trust.

My masters in African Studies and work as an Africa associate, has inspired me to create awareness and support for a charity that supports education projects in Africa. With the average age of a person in Africa at 19 (compared with 40 in the UK), the future of Africa truly lies in education and job creation.

The Africa Educational Trust supports children in Somalia, Kenya, Uganda and South Sudan who have been excluded from educational opportunities because of conflict, discrimination or poverty. A few pounds will help make all the difference to the future of these children, and will push me to train even harder for this charity

  • £20 could provide a classroom with school supplies.
  • £30 could provide a year’s schooling.
  • £50 could help a street child transition back to school.

I appreciate any donations towards this special cause.

Thank you.

About the charity

Africa Educational Trust provides education to children and adults affected by conflict and poverty in Eastern Africa. Reaching over a quarter of a million people every year, we work to build better education systems and give learning opportunities to people who missed the chance to go to school.
