Event: Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre - Challenge 500, on 26 June 2010
We provide riding for disabled children to improve their quality of life

Story

Riding for the Disabled is a charity dedicated to improving the lives of thousands of people through education, therapy and fun. The Wormwood Scrubs Pony Centre is a branch of RDA in Hammersmith. It is an oasis in the centre of town. The centre was started and is still run by Sister Mary-Joy Langdon who has always run it under the principles of the RDA.

It is a unique stable offering a place of tranquillity and opportunity for people with any disabilities or special needs.

The stable does not receive any grants from central Government and relies on the generosity of individuals.

As a Trustee of WSPC it is essential for us to raise money so that Sister Mary-Joy can continue her good work.

Challenge 500 is a cumulative 500 mile walk around Wormwood Scrubs either on foot, horseback or wheelchair. I will be doing my bit by walking as far as possible on June 26th. I am too heavy to be allowed on horseback!

Please give generously to this remarkable charity, and if anyone would like to see the stable at work I would love to show them around.
