For us, lockdown is temporary. For anyone in North Korea, it's a permanent state.
Its people face absolute repression and fierce penalties for disloyalty to the state. They also face bleak poverty and frequent famine - in a country on the verge of economic collapse.
And yet a thriving underground church exists, despite the dangers. If caught, a Christian faces imprisonment, banishment or death. Between 50,000 and 70,000 Christians are imprisoned in terrible labour camps.
Every £70 we raise could provide emergency relief to help a family survive for a year
Incredibly, Open Doors is able to reach this secret church, providing life saving food, medicine, clothing and encouragement, as well as illegal books and Bibles. And the people we help share the little they have with their neighbours - despite the risks.
So please give generously. I’ll be suffering from the running. But it’s nothing compared to the risks my colleagues face in this incredible work.
THANK YOU!
