On January 30th I'm starting a trek up Mt Kilimanjaro.  I'd like to use the opportunity to raise some money for Farleigh Hospice which is near my home in Chelmsford and provides care for people with cancer and other life limiting illnesses.  This care is in the home (using a team of team of Specialist Home Care Nurses), in the form of out patient visits, through day care centres and in the form of 24 hour care at their in-patient unit.

Farleigh Hospice offers all of its services totally free of charge and each year cares for an increasing number of patients.  Last year they cared for 2,946 people. They rely on support and good will to raise £7,750 each day to enable them to carry on caring.

I hope that by asking you to help hit my fundraising target of £1000 we will be able to make a small contribution to this huge cost.

"At any one time Farleigh Hospice is providing care to around 1,100 local people affected by life limiting illnesses, whilst also supporting their families and carers. To fund this care we rely on people fundraising, leaving gifts in their Wills, making donations, supporting our shops and playing the Local Hospice Lottery to help us raise around £7,750 each and every day. As the number of people needing our services continues to grow each year, we depend on this help and support now more than ever.
