Barbara's Friends 3rd Annual Clips for Cancer · 31 July 2020

Supporters from the SWFL community shave their heads and raise funds to support children battling cancer and other blood disorders. Your donation to Barbara's Friends supports programs, services & equipment kids need at Golisano Children's Hospital.

Story

The fight against childhood cancer can be a long journey for the families at Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida, but with the help of generous community members, we are bringing joy to these courageous children's lives. I am a practicing radiologist and the President of Florida Radiology Consultants, I have witnessed what cancer and radiation can do to these kids. That is why I am volunteering to go bald for Clips for Cancer to support kids in SWFL who continue to be in the fight of their lives.

Going bald is a very visible way to show our support for all the children going through chemotherapy and losing their hair.

By contributing to my fundraising page, YOU can help Golisano Children's Hospital continue to provide the best care to these children in the Southwest Florida area. Every donation makes a difference in the lives of our patients and their families.

For the past 25 years, Barbara's Friends has helped over 8,000 local SWFL kids with cancer and blood disorders from infancy to age 30. Since March 1, when COVID-19 began, more than 25 local children have been told they have cancer. Last year 49 children were diagnosed. The numbers are up. More families need your help. Please support our Shavee's by making a donation and share with your friends and family to make a difference in our community. Cancer doesn't care who, when or where. WE DO!
