For those of you who may not know, the Y is way more than a gym and swim facility.  It is a community.  Core to the Y's mission is to ensure everyone can enjoy the Y regardless of your ability to pay.  More importantly, the Y is committed to helping people of all ages and abilities grow in spirit, mind and body. 

The picture above is of my daughter Cameron.  She's 24, happy and healthy.  She also has autism.  Our family is blessed to be able to afford the care she needs however for many families, caring for kids or young adults like Cameron can be a significant financial challenge.  I volunteer for the Y with the specific goal of helping families of kids and young adults with special needs.  The money raised goes directly to our scholarship/financial assistance program to help those in need obtain Y services that help their families.
