Helen and I will be joining some members of HASAG on 9th November to walk over the top of The 02 in order to raise money for HASAG.

HASAG is a charity which supports victims of asbestos related diseases, raises funds for research and also tries to raise awareness of such diseases. 

Helen was diagnosed with MESOTHELIOMA in April 2016, this is a disease neither of us were aware of until then, it is caused by inhalation of asbestos fibres and worst of all it is incurable. She was given a prognosis of 6 to 18 months.

Mesothelioma can be caused by the inhalation of just one fibre of asbestos, you do not have to have worked with asbestos to get it, it can lay dormant for up to 50 years and (not wanting to be alarmist) it could affect anyone of us.

I could go on and on , however if you Google Mesothelioma you will find some worrying facts.Hasag also has a website which details what they do.

Helen's diagnosis has obviously had a devastating effect on our lives, she is amazing in the way she deals with the situation and is determined to fight this horrible disease for as long as possible. I sometimes feel like she is throwing it a challenge. 

Hasag have been a great friend to us from the beginning which is why we are joining them to walk The 02.

Now for my pleading. ...we want  to give something back by raising as much money as possible, so please, please, please will you sponsor us no matter how little, every penny helps. Raising awareness of Mesothelioma is also very important so even if you don't sponsor us could I please ask you to share our page.
