Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
It has been one of my longtime ambitions to run the London marathon and that ambition looks like becoming reality on the 17th April 2011! My old knees are causing a few problems but on the whole my training is going pretty well.
Motivation to get out and train is high because of the charity I am running for. I could have got my place through a number of charities but Help the Hospices is a charity particularly close to mine and my familys' heart.
My sister Angela is bravely battling breast cancer and the facilities at Strathcarron hospice in Scotland have been a great support to her.
For Angela and many like her, the hospice offers amazing support to help beat this illness. Fabulous complimentary therapies such as massage and other treatments have been a great way for her to relax and recover. The staff at the hospice are a great source of information to patients, friends and family. They truly are amazing in that they provide a safe haven in what can be very troubling times.
Most of this work is only possible through charitable donations so this is why I am so delighted and motiviated to be running the London marathon on behalf of Help the Hospices.
