Story
Thank you for visiting my JustGiving page. Please don't leave without emptying your purse or wallet here.
I'm going to drag my lardy arse on a 350km bike ride up the Himalayas (!!) to raise money for the quite brilliant charity Computer Aid International.
Computer
Aid are doing amazing work equipping disadvantaged schools and
hospitals from Zambia to Nepal with computers, enabling instant access
to information that dramatically improves healthcare, education, and
employment opportunities.
A computer in a rural hospital will
help isolated medical staff access potentially life-saving diagnostic
support via the internet or Computer Aid can provide adaptive technology to blind
students in Africa that will make it possible for them to use computers to graduate from college and
access paid employment.
I've already coughed up the airfare
myself - so every pound that you donate will go to equipping schools and
hospitals in developing countries.
Donating through
JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Once you donate, the cash
goes directly to the charity and you can tick the Gift Aid box if you are a UK
tax payer to make your donation even bigger (at no extra cost to you).
So please - don't be giving me any lame excuses - donate what you can afford now!
Just
imagine the intense pain I will be in on the fifth day of cycling -
trying to lug my overweight carcass and, by now, very sore arse up the nineteenth mountain pass - surely it's worth donating just to be
responsible for putting me through that level of pain?!
