School Ground Sounds aims to transform the lives of young people through music.
Operating in Brixton and focussing on those from lower income backgrounds, it provides song-writing and music-making opportunities to 11–16 year olds – aiming to build confidence and valuable life skills as well as building positive engagement.
For the 16–24 year olds, SGS provides opportunities and support to aspiring musicians through a mentoring programme, Grit School (a seven-week music industry programme); and the EP Accelerator programme. It provides young people with contacts, insights, skills and confidence to pursue their dreams.
With experience in the charity and music sectors, I have joined the team as CEO and hope to continue bridging the gap for young people and their aspirations in music - this is only possible with support from the community and funding.
