Story
Most of us will remember the tragic story of little James Bulger, I was only young myself but I have always been aware of the horrific circumstances in which he lost his life. To mark 25 years since this awful crime his mother took part in a documentary which I watched recently, and I can honestly say I’ve never watched anything so heartbreaking and horrifying.
I felt so moved and affected by James and his mum’s story that I really wanted to do something to support the amazing cause that his mother, in the wake of such a tragedy, has so admirably founded.
Sooooo rather than get upset and do nothing, I thought I’d do something....and doing the Tough Mudder Half was what I came up with (this might be some people’s idea of fun but it’s certainly not mine)!!
My lovely friends/sister/husband Becky, Claire, Danielle, Kelly, Robert and Olly are taking part too, so the seven of us will be trying our hardest to get round this 5 mile obstacle course in one piece! Hopefully someone will just throw us over the big wall....
The JBMT is a really sweet, positive charity which supports young people who have been the victims of bereavement, crime, hatred or bullying and rewards those who have shown exemplary conduct, making a positive contribution to the welfare of others, or society in general. They do this by providing free holidays to their own accommodation, the James Bulger House.
Any money raised will go towards the maintenance and upgrade of this special house to continue to bring smiles to deserving children’s faces.
We have until 5th May, we will be training hard, so please give what you can spare, I can’t run, neither can my sister so this is going to be really hard!
Thanks in advance for your support!
Anna, Becky, Claire, Danielle, Kelly, Olly & Robert
