Story

Arash and I will be taking part in a 80 mile ultramarathon in the hills surrounding Loch Ness on the weekend of 30th-31st May 2020.

Yes, that's 80 miles.....80 MILES...non-stop....and we have 24 hours to do it!

As part of our training for this event, we will be taking part in other races including the Fetteresso forest marathon (a mere 26 miles) on 16th February and the Highland Fling ( just a wee 54 miles) at the end of April.

We wish to raise money for two charities close to our hearts - Fighting for Sight which raises money to fund clinical research and buy state-of-the-art equipment for the Eye Department at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary to help in the diagnosis and treatment of eye disease.

And also The Archie Foundation which we have supported for many years and hold close to our hearts due to their support to us when our children were ill and in hospital.

We shall be updating our page at regular intervals with details of training and preparation.

We would be very grateful for any donation to either (or both) of these worthwhile causes and thank you in advance for your support

Here's to many hours in the hills!!

About the charity

Fighting for Sight was established in 2001 to protect the vision of people in Grampian. It has already raised money to build a research unit within the Eye Clinic at ARI and now it continues to raise money to provide equipment, fund ongoing research, promote patient support and staff development.
