Aimee was diagnosed with Anaplastic Metastatic Ependymoma (cancer of the head & spine) on February 3rd 2017. She had surgery the next day to remove most of a 10cm tumour from her lower spine then she went through one round of chemotherapy which made her lose her hair within two weeks & the tumours grew. It made her terribly sick, changed her tastebuds & she stopped eating & drinking. She never recovered from it. After that she went through 7 weeks of the most intense radiotherapy her body could tolerate, 5 days a week. An MRI scan showed improvement so Aimee was able to return to school in September for a couple of hours a day. Finally a bit of normal life resumed & Aimee enjoyed a unicorn themed birthday party. She received her amazing Box of gifts from the Indee Rose Trust. The amazement on her face opening each gift was priceless. Unfortunately only a couple of weeks later Aimee started getting leg pain again, then headaches & vomiting. An emergency MRI scan showed the cancer had progressed so much that nothing more could be done for her. Aimee unfortunately lost her battle on the 18th October.
