Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
2010 is somewhat of a special birthday year for me and I’ve been plotting a unique way to celebrate it. Obviously I want a party at some point, plus I’d like to raise money for Oxfam; a charity I’ve been working for as a volunteer now for nearly 4 years (see link for more info https://www.oxfam.org.uk/donate/legacy/champions.html), plus there had to be a musical twist to the celebrations, and finally I’d wanted to involve as many friends and family as possible.
So, I’m doing a Grade-1-athon! The event was successfully launched on 4th July with approximately 30 participants committing to playing anything from flutes, clarinets, violins, etc. to a harp, fife, mandolin banjo and even a theremin. We now have 3 months to learn our instruments and raise sponsorship money for Oxfam. The exam day/concert/party is scheduled for 3rd October. If you wish to join us and learn something yourself, please email me direct and I'll send you details. After much debating and counter voting, my friends settled on French Horn as the instrument of choice for me (it was a close run thing with bagpipes coming in a close second - phew!).
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now.
