We support Edinburgh's Children's Hospital to help make time spent in hospital better.

Story

On the 27th & 28th May 2011, a team of intrepid walkers and cyclists, made up from staff members at Osprey Holidays, Ski Independence & Powderbeds as well as a few dedicated friends, will be embarking on the Tri Peak Challenge in aid of the Sick Kids Friends Foundation.

The Tri Peak Challenge will involve summiting and cycling between three of the main Scottish ski resorts - Glenshee, the Lecht & Cairngorm - covering over 3500ft of ascent spread over the three peaks and 70 miles of cycling to reach each mountain. For many, this is the first time they will have ever completed a physical challenge of this nature, so it will be a true test of endurance and team work.

Through this challenge we are looking to raise £20,000 which will allow the Royal Hospital for Sick Children to buy a CUSA machine for the treatment of tumours.

The Sick Kids Friends Foundation was set up in 1992 to support the work of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh. The Hospital receives over 100,000 children through its doors each year from all over the East of Scotland. Many of the team taking part in the challenge have spent time with their own children at the hospital and value highly the work which they do.

Remember under the Gift Aid scheme, the Sick Kids Friends Foundation can reclaim an extra 25% in tax on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. Between 6 April 2008 and 5 April 2011, the government will also give UK charities an extra 3% of all eligible donations. This ‘transitional relief’ does not affect your personal tax position.
