Story
So what started out as a discussion down the pub after work on a Friday in March about challenging ourselves this year has turned into myself (Tristan) and Tom deciding to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in Tanzania!
Rising 19,340ft (5895m) above sea level, Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in Africa and the worlds highest free standing mountain (to put that in perspective, the highest mountain in the UK (Ben Nevis) is only 4000ft (1300m) above sea level). Temperatures range from 40c at the bottom to -20c at the top so we're either going to be hotter than hell or colder than if we sat in your freezer for a day! We're going to be starting this ordeal on the 14th September and the whole thing top to bottom should take 8 days.
We'd like to help raise as much money as possible for
Now, despite the fact that a fairly rag tag bunch of celebrities (including that well known fit freak Radio 1 presenter Chris Moyles!) managed to climb Kilimanjaro last year, getting to the summit will still potentially/likely involve (and I quote from the BBC News website) "severe headaches, vomiting, and struggling with your digestive system", so we'd hope you would agree that this is still going to be a tough one and not your average walk in the park! Anything you can donate would be greatly appreciated by ourselves and we look forward to keeping you updated on our progress!
